Cornwall Works

This is for you if you are a young mum or mum to be and are aged 19 and under. We will support young mums back into education, employment or training whilst supporting positive parenting and life skills. YMWA offers creche provision on site, transport support, opportunity to gain qualifications and develop employability skills, opportunity to meet other young mums, information and advice etc.

This is for you if you are 13 to 19 years old and would like independent, impartial information, advice, guidance and practical help in preparing for your working life. Our personal advisors work out of young people's centres, schools, colleges and other youth organisations in Cornwall. This programme is for you if you are an adult and living on an estate in West Cornwall, and wish to undertake training on youth work. The scheme helps you to develop locally managed and delivered youth work projects.

Community Energy Plus: 0800 954 1956 – Advice on energy related grants, insulation and fuel costs.

NHS Direct: 0845 4647 – Health advice and information, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Cornish Community Banking: 0800 055 6873 – A Credit Union in Cornwall providing a range of affordable loans, savings and current accounts.

Counselling Directory: 08448 030240 - An online directory of UK counsellors and psychotherapists with useful information about counselling and how it can help. The site includes personal testimonies. 

Cornwall Carers Service Helpline: 01872 266383 - Offering a wide range of information, support and services to carers, family and friends of carers, and those who are working to improve the quality of life for carers. The helpline is open to all, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with an out-of-hours answer phone for messages.
