This programme is for you if you are unemployed and wish to progress on to a Higher Education module and employment routeway. You will get practical and financial support embedded around Level 4, along with learning to address barriers and support progression.

Health Trainer Service

NHS Cornwall & Isles of Scilly

This service is for you if you wish to make healthier lifestyle choices. This can be in areas of healthy eating, physical activity, smoking cessation and alcohol, but the service aims to offer support in other areas that affect health and wellbeing also. These can include issues such as social isolation, housing and debt advice amongst others.

This project is for you if you live in social housing and wish to develop a healthier behaviour and lifestyle in your community. You will meet Health Trainers who offer one-to-one and group support to achieve your goals in relation to health and well-being.

Housing Advice

Shelter Cornwall

This is for you if you would like face-to-face housing advice and advocacy. Issues such as rent/mortgage arrears, possession action, disrepair homelessness, housing register allocations, and landlord and tenant disputes are covered. 

In order to be eligible for advice you need to be eligible for Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance, Income based Employment and Support Allowance, Guaranteed Pension Credit, or Legal Help (formally Legal Aid). If you are on any other benefit or working you will need full income details (and of your partner too if you share a property), and details of any capital or assets and the cost of your housing (if housed) to establish eligibility.

Community Energy Plus: 0800 954 1956 – Advice on energy related grants, insulation and fuel costs.

NHS Direct: 0845 4647 – Health advice and information, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Cornish Community Banking: 0800 055 6873 – A Credit Union in Cornwall providing a range of affordable loans, savings and current accounts.

Counselling Directory: 08448 030240 - An online directory of UK counsellors and psychotherapists with useful information about counselling and how it can help. The site includes personal testimonies. 

Cornwall Carers Service Helpline: 01872 266383 - Offering a wide range of information, support and services to carers, family and friends of carers, and those who are working to improve the quality of life for carers. The helpline is open to all, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with an out-of-hours answer phone for messages
