This is for you if you are aged between 16 and 19 and are not currently employed or in education or training. You will be given help to identify your interests and strengths and to find a work experience placement that you'll find fun and rewarding. You will also be able to get a range of qualifications that employers will value, and have a mentor who will listen to you, offer you advice and guidance, and help you decide your next move from here. The course can lasts up to 24 weeks.

This is for you if you want free, independent, confidential, impartial advice on legal matters, money matters, or a wide range of other issues. The CAB advises everyone on their rights and responsibilities, and also values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. Camborne Parish Church

Camborne Parish Church runs a Drop In & Share Centre which provides a safe space, warm welcome and valuable support if you need help.  The service is run by Community Support Workers who offer a high level of support.  You will receive help towards training and volunteering opportunities, together with support to explore employment possibilities.

Community Energy Plus

This is for you if you need insulation in your home to make it warmer in the winter. You will be eligible for FREE cavity wall and loft insulation if there is someone in your property who is aged 70 or more, or if you fall into the identified priority groups. See the Community Energy Plus website to find out more. If you do not fall into the priority groups, you could still be eligible for grants towards the cost of your insulation.

Cornwall Council

Freestyle is an ESF Convergence funded programme to support young people aged 16-19 who are not in education, employment or training.  Young people are able to participate in a wide choice of training and gain qualifications upto Level 1.  We work with a wide range of training providers who offer opportunities in conservation, outdoor activities (marine, climbing, kayaking), motor mechanics, hair and beauty, volunteering, arts and media, generic training for those who might not know what they want to do plus specialist provision for young people who might need 1-2-1 support.

FIS provides free, impartial, accurate and up-to-date information on childcare and family services in Cornwall, and holds information on all of the Ofsted registered childcare in Cornwall, including childminders, pre-schools, day nurseries, out of school and holiday schemes. The FIS also signposts to family support services in Cornwall and can provide information on activities for children and families.

Menopause Self Care can help you if you are an employed or unemployed women aged over 50 and experiencing menopause.  Two-thirds of women are symptomatic and one-third of women have a 'rough time’ with menopause which can affect work and family life.  This project provides a compassionate, common sense, consumer guide to ‘the change’ giving you the tools to become your own best self-care advocate.

Prospects

This 13-week programme is for you if you have been on Jobseekers Allowance for six months or more. It offers the chance for you to gain job-related skills and improve your well-being while gaining work experience which benefits you and your community. There will also be one-to-one support, personal mentoring, free job search resources, assistance with travel costs and other additional funding.

Seccure Credit Union

This is for you if you want access to low cost credit and saving facilities, but find it difficult to obtain these from mainstream providers. All the money saved in Cornish credit unions stays in Cornwall, so they're great for people who want to invest in local communities too. Cornwall Council works with all four credit unions in Cornwall. Some operate across the whole of Cornwall, others are open to people living in specific areas.

Shelter Cornwall

This is for you if you would like face-to-face housing advice and advocacy. Issues such as rent/mortgage arrears, possession action, disrepair homelessness, housing register allocations, and landlord and tenant disputes are covered. 

In order to be eligible for advice you need to be eligible for Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance, Income based Employment and Support Allowance, Guaranteed Pension Credit, or Legal Help (formally Legal Aid). If you are on any other benefit or working you will need full income details (and of your partner too if you share a property), and details of any capital or assets and the cost of your housing (if housed) to establish eligibility.

This programme is for you if you want to progress towards work, as it offers interview skills, CV writing and job search assistance, and the opportunity to gain NVQs and literacy and numeracy qualifications. There is also English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) learning for migrant workers and families.
