The Cornwall Works Employers Forum is a group of employers who provide support and guidance to help engage effectively across all employers, both large and small.
We aim to achieve:
Overcoming barriers in recruitment processes and working practices especially for Cornwall Works target groups such as lone parents, offenders, people with disabilities and health problems
Increasing an understanding of diversity
Ensuring employers have the relevant support they request
Judy Davidson is the employer lead for Cornwall Works. Judy links with Public and Private sector employers to create opportunities for disadvantaged clients across the county. Opportunities are created in several ways depending on the resources and commitment of the employer which can range from work placements to involvement in Routeway events giving interviews and feedback to our clients.
Employers are encouraged to sign up to being a good practice employer who welcomes Cornwall Works clients. The Employers Forum is driving this initiative.
Cornwall Works has also developed a "Skills Passport" based on what employers identify as valuable in their recruitment process. The Passport to Work is benefiting people who have been unemployed for some time and have no recent work history. People on work placements can record progress and changes in attitude and show positive steps taken towards work.
If you are an employer and would like to get involved in any of the above please contact Tom on Office 01872 355015, mobile 07772 565654 or email info@cornwallworks.org.uk
