Jobcentre Plus Rapid Response Service
Jobcentre Plus provides support for employers and their employees through the Rapid Response Service (RRS). The RRS aims to address the effects of job losses on individuals and on the local community by helping people move rapidly into alternative employment without the need to claim welfare benefits.
When is RRS offered?
RRS is available to both public, private and voluntary sector employers who plan to make redundancies. Jobcentre Plus contacts every employer who notifies the Insolvency Service of 20 or more redundancies to offer support. Jobcentre Plus also makes every effort to identify companies making fewer than 20 people redundant, and offers support wherever possible.
How is RRS delivered?
RRS support is managed by Jobcentre Plus and delivered with partners such as Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service and skills providers. Decisions are made locally about the appropriate support for each redundancy that arises, drawing together local partners to deliver support tailored to the needs of the situation. For significant large scale redundancies, decisions and coordination of support happens through the Area Action Force, a multi-agency coordination group.
How can the RRS service be accessed?
Telephone 01872 355068 or 01872 355067. You can also find a local help and advice guide online at http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/idoc.ashx?docid=c01bc52a-8f33-4234-8de9-c9009de4172b&version=-1
