Cornwall Works
Pride 2011

Saturday 27th August was the fourth consecutive Pride event in Cornwall, this year with a fairytale theme.  Many people congregated on Lemon Quay before the parade through the Truro streets which ended as usual at Victoria gardens.

The costumes were as flamboyant as ever and all those present were clearly looking forward to having a good time. By Noon there were rugs spread and many people settled in for the afternoon.

The live music provided was very upbeat and superbly performed by the artists.

The stalls varied from Cornwall Council and Health representatives to a magnificent and suitably colourful  cupcake maker with other freshly made food available. Inclusion Cornwall supported the event chatting to the people there particularly letting them know the role Cornwall Works plays in the area of worklessness in the County, also raising awareness of the number of Migrant workers Cornwall has and what support can be accessed for them.

As expected there were representatives from the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transsexual) community with information about support groups and future events.
