An important part of maintaining a good lifestyle is to include health and fitness. There are a number of activities and opportunities available to you no matter what your health and fitness levels or circumstances:

Sportmakers: The Sport Makers programme aims to inspire over 400 people in Cornwall to get involved in volunteering, with each of them receiving training and spending at least 10 hours organising or leading sporting activities. www.sportmakers.co.uk

Surf Action: Encourages people, in particular who are combat veterans and those aged over 50, to use surfing as an active yet mind- relaxing activity. http://www.surfaction.co.uk/


Move for Health:
For those aged 50+ who would like to work, building on the positive link between health and employment.  The objective is to work with individuals to reduce their ill-health through increased physical activity and physical fitness – as part of their journey towards training, volunteering or work.

Cornwall Sports Partnership: The Partnership is an affiliation of organisations that have joined forces to make sport and physical activity a part of everyday life in Cornwall.

Pentreath:
A mental health charity which runs a number of projects to help improve individual’s health and wellbeing throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. http://www.pentreath.co.uk/


Health Promotion - Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (NHS) :
Supports a culture of health and wellbeing in aiming to be an effective partner for improving health and wellbeing and to support and encourage good health promotion practice across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Health Trainer Service

The Health Trainer Service has Health Trainers based from Bude to Penzance.  Health trainers can help people manage their health and wellbeing and by doing so people stay in work and get back to work.

Arts for Health – Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly:
Arts for Health aims to improve health and well-being through creativity. Research shows that taking part in creative activities can greatly benefit people’s physical, emotional and mental health.
